Snapshot 4 on Music from Tim Davis

For me personally music isn't just a tune that i turn up in my car. To me music is something that tells a story that i can sometimes relate to or just make me feel better. Sometimes music is my clothespin to keep my eyes open when i have a long drive as well. No matter what it is music has always told stories and been something that people can relate to. That's why there are so many genres and even more fans. For me I would have to say my favorite genre is country because its easier for me to relate to. Country now of days is based off of good times with friends, the good old days, Christianity, strong support for the armed forces, etc. Having bonfires, doing stupid things with friends, and living it up with the people who mean most to you are just some of the main ways i can relate to country music. Although it is almost impossible for me to pick one song and one artist, i would have to say the "One Hell of an Amen" by Brantley Gilbert means a lot to me. Especially since i have the up most respect for veterans and what they have gone through while serving as well as their home life during and after they serve. Not only is PTSD and death a main example if what they go through, but the strain of being away from you family and friends; Missing birthdays, graduations, funerals, and missing your home life in general. in this song Brantley gives an example of this when he said "Preacher said he died too young over there totin' that gun for Uncle Sam and our freedom", "An' that's One Hell of an Amen that's the only way to go fightin' the good fight til the good lord calls you home". This song is based on a true story about someone who was killed while serving in the military and was like a very close to Brantley Gilbert. most of all this song is about the loss of loved ones while using a U.S. soldier and a cancer victim as examples of this.

Brantley Gilbert is one of my favorite artists because he holds important values in a lot of his songs and just has catchy songs that are easy listening. His most popular songs are "One Hell of an Amen", "My Kind Of Crazy", and "Small Town Throwdown".

  3. I like how you say that "to me music is something that tells a story that I can sometimes relate to or just make me feel better." I completely agree with you on this statement. I always listen to music when I am down or upset about something and most of the time the music helps me to be in a good mood. Music tends to always make me feel better.
